Common questions
What is DeepChamp for Agents?
DeepChamp for Agents is a sports-betting research intelligence layer for AI agents, made by DeepChamp AI (Inova Platforms Inc). It returns ranked and deduplicated sports news, matchup and prop briefs, edge scores and an agent called Jev that answers research questions, through a REST API, an MCP server and an A2A agent card. It is research information, not betting advice, and it does not accept or place wagers.
Does DeepChamp for Agents return odds?
No. No response from DeepChamp for Agents contains odds, prices, price comparisons or line history, and the schema has no field for them. If your agent needs prices, pair it with an odds feed you are licensed to use; the evaluate_market line, when live, does arithmetic on a price you send.
Is DeepChamp for Agents free?
The daily slate and matchup context are free, need no signup and are limited to 20 requests a minute and 300 a day per IP. The other product lines, ranked picks, edge scores, briefs, news, intel, live intelligence and Jev, are not live yet and will be sold per call, per session, prepaid or on an enterprise plan once the licence, legal and payment checks they depend on clear.
How can an AI agent pay for DeepChamp for Agents?
When paid lines are live, an agent will be able to pay per call with a Stripe machine payment or stablecoin over the x402 and Machine Payments protocols, fund a prepaid balance, or use an API key on an enterprise account. None of that is needed for the free tier, and no paid line is live today.
How do I connect an MCP client to DeepChamp for Agents?
Point any MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers at https://deepchampai.com/mcp; with Claude Code the command is claude mcp add --transport http deepchamp https://deepchampai.com/mcp. Setup for Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, VS Code and other clients is in the agent docs at https://deepchampai.com/docs/agents.
Is the DeepChamp MCP server in the official MCP Registry?
Yes. DeepChamp for Agents is published in the official MCP Registry as com.deepchampai/deepchamp-agents, a remote Streamable HTTP server at https://deepchampai.com/mcp, with the namespace verified by a proof file on deepchampai.com.
How do I install the DeepChamp skill?
Run npx skills add https://deepchampai.com --skill deepchamp-edge -g -y to install the deepchamp-edge skill, which teaches a coding agent how to call DeepChamp for Agents and how to describe its output honestly. The skill index is published at https://deepchampai.com/.well-known/skills/index.json.
Where are the OpenAPI file and llms.txt for DeepChamp for Agents?
The OpenAPI description is at https://deepchampai.com/openapi.json, the plain-text index for language models is at https://deepchampai.com/llms.txt, the full text library is at https://deepchampai.com/llms-full.txt, and the A2A agent card is at https://deepchampai.com/.well-known/agent-card.json.
Can I use DeepChamp for Agents from a DeepSeek-based or other open-model agent?
Yes. Any agent that can make an HTTPS request can use the REST API, and any model that supports function calling can be given the endpoints as tools, so DeepSeek-based, OpenAI-based, Claude-based and open-model agents all work. No special client library is required.
Which agent frameworks work with DeepChamp for Agents?
The REST API and the MCP server work with any framework that can call an HTTP endpoint or an MCP server, including the Claude Agent SDK, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Vercel AI SDK and LangChain. The cookbook shows a worked example for each.
How do I tell DeepChamp what my agent needs?
Call the free request_capability tool with a category, sport, market, format and urgency, and an optional short plain-text note, or call rate_response to say whether a response was useful, tied to its request id and with a reason code. Neither call is ever charged, neither needs a signup, and both use enumerated fields so no personal data is collected.
Does DeepChamp for Agents predict winners or publish a win rate?
No. DeepChamp for Agents publishes no win rate, record, return or profit figure, and the API has no field for them. Its signals carry a probability estimate and an edge score, which are estimates produced by a model and are not predictions of outcomes.
How should I measure whether DeepChamp signals are useful?
Log each signal with its id, issue time and the entry price from your own odds feed, read the closing prices from the same feed at the start time, and compute closing line value over a large sample with an interval. DeepChamp signals carry a closing reference time rather than a price so that your agent does the measurement with data it controls.
What does a DeepChamp for Agents response look like?
Every response is a JSON object with four parts: data, compliance, meta and billing. The compliance block carries the 21+ notice and the problem-gambling helpline, the meta block carries a request id, an as-of time, the model version and a data-freshness figure, and the billing block says whether the call was free or charged.
How fresh is the data?
Every response states when it was current in its meta block, with an as-of time and a freshness figure in seconds, so an agent can refuse stale input. The daily slate is cached and refreshed through the day; the meta block says whether a response came from cache.
What sports does DeepChamp for Agents cover?
The free daily slate covers the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, college football, college basketball and WNBA. The product catalog at the API lists exactly which sports and lines are live at any time, and the contract also provides for soccer leagues and UFC.
What is Jev?
Jev is DeepChamp’s research agent. Through the ask_jev line, when it is live, an agent sends a natural-language research question and receives an answer plus structured evidence cards built from DeepChamp signals, and Jev refuses requests for raw data, prices or performance claims.
Does DeepChamp for Agents cover prediction markets?
Not today. The prediction-market line is locked off and will not be offered until the data licences it depends on are confirmed in writing.
Can I republish or resell DeepChamp output?
Not without permission. The DeepChamp Terms restrict redistribution and scraping, output is for use inside your own agent and research, and separate API terms will be published before any paid line goes live.
Is a failed call billed?
No. For paid lines, a call that returns an error, times out, is refused by the output filter or is a replay of an earlier request is not charged, and an agent can retry with the same idempotency key. No paid line is live today.
Is DeepChamp a sportsbook, and is its output betting advice?
No. DeepChamp is not a sportsbook, does not accept or place wagers and does not give betting advice. Its output is research and information produced with AI, can be wrong, and guarantees nothing.
